Water cutting

Water cutting (in other words: abrasive blasting, hydro-abrasive machining) is, to put it simply, the use of an extremely high-pressure water jet to cut material with a thickness not exceeding 200 mm. The table, used for processing elements, has dimensions of 3×1.5 m.

This gives you the ability to cut large elements or several at the same time. When cutting soft and thin materials, water alone is sufficient, but in the case of harder and thicker materials, it is necessary to use water mixed with an abrasive agent (garnet). This is done in such a way that the water accelerates the abrasive to a speed close to the speed of sound (340.3 m/s), which is responsible for the incredible precision guaranteed by the water cutting technology. Garnet itself can be compared to sand, but it is definitely harder and has much sharper edges.

Cutting all materials with water

Cutting with water makes it possible to cut materials with a precision of up to 0.1 mm:

  • Natural stone and conglomerate
  • Carbon steel
  • Stainless steel
  • Non-ferrous metals and non-ferrous metal alloys
  • Glass and polycarbonate
  • Pottery
  • Grass
  • Rubber and Plastics
  • Wood and wood-based panels
  • Other materials? call! Samples of cutting out unusual material will be made for free

Cutting with water (Water Jet method) is an innovative technology that uses a jet of water with extremely high pressure to cut all kinds of material from stone to metals to glass, wood or plastics. The key advantage of Water Jet is the lack of thermal impact on the processed raw material.

Water Jet is unmatched compared to other cutting methods. First of all, the water jet cuts through materials much thicker than laser or plasma cutting can do. In addition, the machining performed is characterized by a definite precision than in the case of other methods. In addition, the material is not subjected to high temperatures, as is the case with thermal cutting. Thanks to this, the cut raw material is not exposed to mechanical damage in the form of scratches or microcracks.

Abrasive blasting has many advantages, the most important of which are:

  • the ability to cut virtually all types of materials
  • high quality cut edges
  • No effect on the surface structure of the material, eliminating the need for finishing
  • making any shapes
  • environmentally friendly technology – no harmful fumes or hazardous waste are produced during processing
  • quick and effective processing of raw material

We only have highly specialized equipment – WJS X3015, which allows us to cut materials with a thickness not exceeding 200 mm with a water jet. Our table, used for processing elements, has dimensions of 3×1.5 m. This gives us the ability to water cut large elements or several at the same time.

Being aware of the complexity of materials and raw materials, we approach each ordered service of abrasive water treatment in an individual way, and the orders we carry out are accurate, efficient and reliable. To meet the needs of our customers, we are open to any suggestions, also willingly sharing our experience.

We offer services of cutting structural and stainless steel using a numerically controlled machine.
